Season 10 Finals Face-Off
The American Idol season 10 death match has begun with Lauren Alaina and Scotty McCreery squaring off in their final country showdown (is that a hoedown?). In a last minute American Idol high drama moment, Lauren Alaina almost had to bow out due to nearly blowing out her vocal cords after a full season of belting out crowd-pleasing hits but the staff doctor prescribed a hefty shot of cortisone to allow the show's prize horse to run. And run she did. There wasn't a dry eye in the house when Alaina descended the most dangerous staircase in show biz and was escorted by Ryan Seacrest over to her mother in the first row who she hugged while still singing the lyrics to Like My Mother Does. McCreery, no slouch himself, is a ready-made country star, rearing to go, fresh out of the box. This guy could sing the cowboy boots off an A&R rep from Nashville and walk away with a label deal any day of the week, with or without Idol. Check out his performance of Gone below:
